Kitty Inkpot is an independent Chinese studio famous for their shading and chromashading inks. I’ve written a blog post as a guide to the brand and where to find their inks, and this companion post acts as a guide to their full range and a catalogue of Kitty Inkpot swatches.
I have swatched all of their inks (that I have) on full collection pages, and I’ll update this guide periodically to include larger single-ink swatches as I do them over time.
Swatching Paper and Tools
- Unless otherwise specified, all ink swatches here were swatched on white Sanzen Tomoe River 52gsm paper.
- Monoline headers were written with a Speedball A- or B- series nib.
- Writing samples were written with a glass dip pen.

Kitty Inkpot Season Collections
Season 1: Write With Wild
Season 1 is unique amongst Kitty Inkpot collections, as all the inks in this collection were available in versions with and without shimmer included; I have swatched the no-shimmer versions here. This collection was also released before Kitty Inkpot began the chromashading effects which would quickly become their signature.

Season 2: Something Remembers

Season 3: Odyssey of Unknown Island

Season 4: Prologue of Season

Season 5: Crazy Party

Season 6: Daytime Fantasy

Other Kitty Inkpot Inks
Kitty Inkpot Store Exclusives
Kitty Inkpot has created three exclusive inks for Australian indie stationery store Soe & Soe. (Full disclosure: I am a Soe & Soe affiliate, and you can find my affiliate code on my Codes page for a discount if you’re shopping there; they do ship internationally.)

Kitty Inkpot Mystery Inks
Kitty Inkpot’s “mystery inks” come in small 5 mL glass jars, and are often drawn from prototypes and test batches, thrown in as freebies with ink orders. If you receive a mystery ink, you may never be able to match it exactly with one of their official releases and it may be nearly unique. The swatches here are the mystery inks I have, and I’m including them for completeness.

Kitty Inkpot Ink Gacha
Kitty Inkpot have also released a selection of blind box/”ink gacha” inks, and I will include swatches of the inks I do have – however, I don’t have a full list of inks that were available in this way.
In progress.
So this wraps up the extent of my collection of Kitty Inkpot swatches – so far! I’ll continue updating this guide as I swatch further, and as I become aware of new releases.
